Pokémon Ageos Chronicles – Log 05C



Report 3: Bladestorm



    When the group of Trainers Logged back In, they arrived in the Russetton Pokémon Center’s resting area with their Pokémon on them. It seems their Pokémon were also taken with them when they Logged Out, and they all seemed to be fully healed as well.

    “Well...doesn’t seem there are any negative signs on our characters,” Aaron said as he looked at everyone’s character statuses. “Let’s go check on Chris and Tina to see if anything happened to them.” The four Trainers then headed out to the Lobby where Chris and Tina were waiting.

    “Oh hey there, how’s it been on the other side?” Tina asks the group. “Something strange happened here while you were gone.”

    “Yeah, we noticed,” Zakari replied. “Apparently this world got updated, and our characters now have Elemental Classes and Character Skills. Plus we have MP on our characters.”

    “Anyway, we got our next objective thought out. One of the Quest descriptions mentioned a killer Skarmory terrorizing this town for quite some time, and I think it’s right about time we take it down.” Brice explained.

    “Yeah, that thing needs to die,” Chris replied.

    “Why not? We don’t really have anything else to do right now.” Aaron agreed.

    “Hold on a minute, do any of you realize that Quest is a 2-Star Quest?” Tina said. “We don’t have a single badge yet, what makes you think we can take on something that can absolutely destroy us? We should either get the Gym badge of this town or tackle the 1-Star Quests first before taking on that thing.”

    “Sorry, majority rule,” Zakari decided. “We’re taking on the killer Skarmory, whether you like it or not. It’s what our Tina would do.” As soon as he finished speaking, they heard an evacuation signal as well as an unhuman screech in the distance.

    “Well now, guess it’s time we get out there, don’t you agree?” Zakari mentioned as the group headed outside.

    “*sigh* I guess...” Tina replied, obviously against this idea.

    When the group got outside, some of the police officers were trying to get people into the surrounding buildings. One of them just so happened to be near the Pokemon Center.

    “You kids! Get back inside! That’s an order!” the police officer demanded. “We don’t want any casualties!”

    “With all due respect sir, we came out here to deal with that killer Skarmory,” Lily said calmly. “One of the Quests asked for skilled Trainers, yes?”

    “W-Well yes, but...you don’t look very strong at all. Are you really sure you can beat it?” The police officer said, worried about their safety. But before he could convince him otherwise, the killer Skarmory attacked. “Oh no, we’re too late!”

    Zakari noticed a trio of wind blades coming straight towards him and the others, and signaled as such. Zakari was able to slice through one of them, while Aaron stabbed the other two in quick succession. Tina, Chris, and the police officer were all surprised at their reflexes. But a couple seconds later, the Skarmory swept right above them and landed directly behind them.

    “Oh crap, we’re all going to die if we don’t get going!” the police officer exclaimed, trying not to freak out too much.

    “We’re not leaving! We came out here to kill this bastard, and we won’t stop until said bastard is dead!” Zakari and the others showed great determination, but it may have all been for naught as the Skarmory emitted an evil aura. It seems this Skarmory is immune to all attacks that anyone throws at it now.

    “We can’t win! We need to get out of here now!” The police officer exclaimed as he ran as fast as he could away from the scene. The Skarmory tried to attack Zakari and the others, however...

    “Break Slash!” Suddenly a feminine voice screamed out nearby, and in an instant a giant slashing wave went straight through the Skarmory’s body, eradicating the evil aura. Then a couple seconds later, a young girl with bright red pigtailed hair and a red-and-yellow clothing garb landed directly behind the Skarmory, and she seemed to be wielding a giant sword in her left hand.

    “Huh...?” Brice said as the group felt a mysterious aura coming from the girl. Brice and a few others seemed to recognize the aura. “Wait. Sonitus?”

    “Yeah, it’s me,” the girl replied. “Glad you remember me, Brice.”

    “No time to explain! We got a pissed Skarmory in front of us to deal with first!” Zakari brought the group back on topic, and then scanned the Pokemon with his Pokedex.

Skarmory is a silver-gray, avian Pokémon with a long, metallic blue neck, legs, and tail. It has yellow eyes, a pointed beak with several pointed teeth, and a triangular crest on its head. There are red feathers under the sheaths that cover its sharp wings, and each feather can be moved independently. Its wings are actually hollow, allowing it to travel up to 180 mph. Its feet have three toes on them, two in front and one in back, and its tail has hooked ends.
Its steel wings become tattered and bashed in from repeated battles, but once a year the battered wings grow back completely. This process restores the cutting edges. Its feathers are sharp enough to be used as blades. Its skin and feathers are solid because it lives and is raised in very harsh conditions. Its nests are usually found in thorn bushes, where continual scratching of its skin will eventually harden it into an iron-like state.

    “Indeed, we should focus on our fight with this evil Skarmory. Because we won’t get another chance before this town turns into dust.” Sonitus said as Zakari noticed the Skarmory try to send out its wind blades again. Little did the Skarmory know that he figured out how the trapped being worked. He secretly packed a few useless Solitaire cards into his pocket, and was able to transfer them to his avatar.

    “I knew these would be useful!” Zakari exclaimed as he took out three of these cards, and threw each of them at the wind blades with quick succession. All three cards hit each of the wind blades directly, eradicating them in a puff of smoke.

    “Now then, let’s get this fight underway. Shall we?” Zakari and the other agreed, and the Skarmory let out a loud roar before flying towards the group of Trainers.

Boss #2: Bladestorm (Skarmory)

Despite her appearance being similar to that of a Pokémon, Sonitus is indeed considered a Trainer. However, unlike all of the other Trainers in your party, she cannot train or catch any Pokémon, and will instead gain levels when Zakari gains levels. Other than that, her status works and functions like all other Trainers do.

    “Huh...I can still feel a blazing aura from this Skarmory,” Zakari mentioned. “I should probably refrain from attacking for now.” He decided to Pass his turn.

    As the police officer looked back, he was astonished to see such a powerful blow being dealt to the Skarmory so easily.

    “I see...so that’s how magic spells work in this world,” Tina said, intrigued by Aaron’s magical capabilities.

Sudaku’s flames unfortunately weren’t nearly as powerful as Aaron’s, but they certainly did their job.

    “That’s the spirit! Now let me electrify the stage – Zio!” Brice exclaimed, charging up a small amount of electricity and sending it towards the Skarmory.

Brice’s spark of lightning lit up the sunset sky as it shocked the Skarmory quite a bit! (Remaining MP: 49)

    “Cool! It’s also weak to electricity!” Sonitus was surprised by the Trainers’ knowledge. “Keep this up, and it won’t take long to beat it!”

    “How dare you try to destroy what is rightfully ours, you metal SCUM?!” Gemini exclaimed, also sending electricity Skarmory’s way.

A fierce bolt of anger-induced lightning came crashing down on the Skarmory’s wings, leaving it electrocuted for a few seconds before wearing off!

Weak! 37 HP of damage dealt to Skarmory!

    “Whoa, uhh...you ok, Gemini?” Brice said nervously.

    “Uhh, y-yeah...I’m fine,” Gemini answered, also nervous.

    “Now I think it’s time we take supportive measures. Tarukaja!” Zakari invigorated everyone by increasing their power.

    “I feel the power surging through me...Time to take a different approach this time!” Sonitus exclaimed as she changed her weapon’s form into that of a longsword. “Now feel the power of my sword – Bind Blade!”

While the attack itself was barely unable to entangle the Skarmory, it was still able to deal a formidable blow! (Remaining HP: 43)

    “Amazing! You can heal too, Aaron!” Lily exclaimed, excited for Aaron.

    “Impressive, young Aaron. Now allow me to channel my inner spirit!” Sudaku exclaimed, pumped to burn the Skarmory once more.

Sudaku’s flames were still shallow compared to Aaron’s, but they were at least stronger than his previous flames.

    “My spirit will never stop burning. No matter what happens to me.” Sudaku said afterward.

    “Now I’ll fortify our physique a bit. Rakukaja!” Brice was able to power up the entire group’s bodies.

    Gemini decided not to waste his breath, and concentrate on zapping the Skarmory down to the ground.

Another destructive zap! It seemed the Skarmory couldn’t catch a single break today!

    “*whew* We’re still nowhere near close to done yet,” Brice mentioned as the group prepared for the oncoming attacks.

After which, the Skarmory then did the same to Gemini...with little success.

The Skarmory, angry at Sudaku for burning the shit out of his left wing, decided to toss some sand into his eyes!

    “Let me get back at this bastard for that – Fire Blade!” Zakari’s sword then conjured fire of its own as he rushed towards the Skarmory.

With a slight amount of revenge burning the flames hotter than ever, Zakari’s attack left a massive burning cut on the Skarmory’s torso! (Remaining HP: 70)

Weak! 49 HP of damage dealt to Skarmory!

    “That’ll teach you to harm my friends like that, you bastard!” Zakari exclaimed after dealing his vicious attack.

    “Nnnnnngh...” Sonitus groaned as she slowly got up. “I’ll make him pay...I’ll make sure he dies!” She then rushed the Skarmory in the same manner as last time – Bind Blade.

Despite Sonitus’s severe open wound, she was still able to slice through the Skarmory’s armor with ease. Man, she’s tough. (Remaining HP: 11)

    Unfortunately Sonitus wasn’t able to land on her feet. Rather, she was too wounded to stand at all.

    “Don’t worry about me just yet...just focus your actions on that Skarmory until your next action,” Sonitus replied.

With another powerful round of flames from Aaron, the Skarmory was gradually starting to feel the heat more and more! (Remaining MP: 43)

    “Do not be so reckless, young one. Your life is at risk!” Sudaku scolded Sonitus for her decision.

    “Please...Aaron can act again if we just stay focused...” Sonutis replied slowly.

    “Hmm...if you say so! Ember!” Sudaku conjured yet more flames. The fight was heating up by the second.

Sudaku let out his most powerful flames yet, burning the already open cuts on the Skarmory’s body even more!

    The group, all in good condition, then prepared for the oncoming attacks.

It then decided to use its sharp claws on Sonitus...but she was too agile for it to land!
